Hole to hole caning involves hand weaving six layers of individual strands of cane. Once weaving is completed, it is bound off by with another strand of cane essentially stitched around the seat. This type of caning is very labor intensive, but worth the investment if you love your chair. ( it is structurally, and aesthetically, ill advised to try to modify a chair from hole to hole to a pressed cane)
